Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a distinct assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
